This position is part of the Government Publication Sales, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG-2005-06, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-05 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: Specialized experience is described as 1) Possessing general experience of warehouse management and inventory management systems, to govern stock control and reporting operations; 2) Maintaining purchasing, and inventory records to include preparing reports ,summarizing information and using data systems, i.e. Excel spreadsheets; and 3) Identifying and working to resolve discrepancies, and inconsistencies; while using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) and Bar code software. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Manages and controls materials and supplies.
Works within a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures, or other governing supply guidelines.
Applies knowledge of systems, techniques, and underlying management concepts for determining, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of supplies from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issues and utilization or disposal.
Utilizes Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) and Bar Code software to track and manage inventory.
Operates a power forklift and scissor lift to efficiently move and organize materials within the warehouse.
