This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants must have specialized experience and/or directly related education: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance and oversight for various environmental programs including but not limited to: wastewater treatment and disposal, pollution prevention, conservation, hazardous materials and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will monitor programs and studies to determine whether emissions violate applicable regulations or constitute a health hazard.
You will provide controls and procedures necessary to protect or improve air, land, and water resources and prevent water, soil, or atmospheric contamination.
You will identify areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to correct problems, coordinate with appropriate commands and arrange for contractors to conduct required studies.
You will prepare discharge and emissions control inventories and modeling as required by the State of Hawaii.
You will conduct inspections to identify non-compliant pollution sources and determines whether non-compliance is indicative of enforcement problems or a need for improved pollution control design.
You will represent Marine Corps Base (MCB) Hawaii at conferences, seminars, and meetings at higher headquarters and other installations and businesses and organizations outside DoD.
You will keep the Supervisor and Director informed about the status and details of environmental issues related to his/her environmental programs.
You will provide guidance and interpretation of environmental engineering policy directives and programs to ensure consistent compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
