You will serve as a WELDER SUPERVISOR I in the WELD SHOP (026) of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. You will be responsible for the week-to-week and month-to-month planning of the work effort in accordance with established schedule requirements taking into consideration available workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools.
You will ensure workers with appropriate qualifications are available to fulfill both immediate and future requirements, complicating the scheduling of the work.
You will schedule, coordinate and direct the accomplishment of work projects or operations in accordance with project needs and schedules.
You will instruct personnel on work requirements, methods, and procedures or demonstrates various steps or processes.
You will perform inspections of completed work where required, monitors nuclear discrepancy and radiological deficiency report trends and reports to higher management.
You will work with welding engineers to continually improve processes or to accomplish first-time or other specialized welding procedures.
