Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Report testing and implementation plans to establish testing criteria of program projects are accurate and complete. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommend support requests for network services by administering systems support. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide formal or informal training ensuring users understand the relationships of the system and able to work with the system without interruption. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Test and analyze computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Advanced network design concepts e.g. Cisco/Juniper networks. Advanced knowledge of route and switch concepts including IPv4 and IPv6. Strong understanding of ports, protocols and services. Experience with campus sized network analytics and troubleshooting. Operational experience with networks and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE). Experience with voice over internet protocol (VOIP) systems and operational capabilities. Experience with communicating effectively horizontally and vertically. You will implement all network operating systems and/or application software and maintains contact with software suppliers to insure that current releases of software products are in use.
You will conduct testing to insure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.
You will provide ongoing support, resolution of problems, and recovery of operating malfunctions involving various hardware components and software failures.
You will conduct analyses of network usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors.
You will provide customer assistance to current and potential users.
Provide formal or informal training to ensure users understand the relationships of the system and are able to operate it without undue interruption.
