Job Description:
This position is located on the Island of Oahu. Management has the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires. This position is a regular Full-time position with at least 40 hours/week eligible for NAF benefits package and leave accrual. This position is entitled to 8.64% COLA (Island of Oahu). COLA is subject to change without notice.
Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying). Basic Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in special education, early childhood education, child/youth development, elementary/secondary education, or directly related behavioral science. In addition to meeting the requirement above, candidates must possess experience at a level which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities for successful performance. ALL EXPERIENCE LISTED BELOW MUST BE RELFECTED ON RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED. This experience must have been gained in child and youth programs/educational settings as follows: 1. Child and youth program management and/or training implementation experience (may include public school and/or youth recreation program administration). 2. Experience demonstrating skills necessary to foster professional development in adults. 3. Experience as a supervisor, leader, or mentor. 4. Experience analyzing programs to determine professional development needs. 5. Experience developing training plans or educational curriculum, identifying training sources, conducting training, and evaluating outcomes. 6. Experience in budget planning and implementation. 7. Experience working with child and youth partner organizations, parents, schools, or other liaison services to achieve common goals. OR Completion of 24 semester hours in coursework as indicated above, plus additional related coursework and/or experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a 4-year course of study. In addition to meeting requirements above, candidates must possess experience at a level which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities for successful performance. Serves as the Supervisory Trainer for CYS programs with responsibility for the operation, integration, coordination, and oversight of garrison CYS training, curriculum, and programming.
Coordinates with CYS directors/managers to develop a comprehensive CYS training plan based on assessed training needs. Identifies training opportunities for management, administrative and support staff and notifies them of training availability.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert on garrison level CYS inspections with primary responsibility for training, curriculum and programming regulatory requirements and CYS baseline standards.
Provides coaching to trainers and provides feedback and written documentation of coaching sessions to improve overall trainer performance. Provides a full range of supervisory functions.
Prepares reports, information papers, fact sheets and studies as required. Prepares and presents briefings to command, installation and civilian community personnel. Establishes and maintains required program database.
