Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:-Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; -Performance tuning tools and techniques; -System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -Systems administration methods; and -IT security principles. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in complexity, difficulty and responsibility to the next lower pay band level. Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists (NF-4/GS-09 level) performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology.
Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available.
Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules. Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, runs tests to verify operability and functionality.
Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of servers. Performs assignments using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration and systems engineering.
Supervises assigned staff, defines organizational objectives and specific goals of the subordinate IM element, plans short-range and long-range work to be accomplished.
Adjusts long-range schedules, objectives, and goals in relation to the workload, personnel required, and priorities.
