The Maintenance Supervisor posses the skill and knowledge to supervise, plan, direct, and administer maintenance operations to include; coordination of all activities for the carpenters, locksmith, masons, electricians, maintenance mechanic, maintenance workers, air conditioner mechanic, pipe-fitters, and the welder of an operational unit within Facility Management Service.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Duties are typically performed in all buildings in the Medical Center and is required to monitor activities throughout the entire facility, which are comprised of non-housekeeping quarter, offices, locker rooms, laboratories, operating rooms, general and specialized medical areas, and psychiatric wards.
The incumbent oversees the Engineering Operations supply program and complies with Acquisition Material Management requirements. Incumbent has substantially full supervisory responsibility for control over work operation and is accountable to their immediate supervisor for the quality and quantity of the work performed. Duties include but are not limited to: Plans and schedules daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules and assignments for employees supervised. Establishes deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods, and procedures of the team. Determines proper methods, materials, personnel requirements, and time estimates necessary to ensure that established trade standards are met in assigned area Provides on -the-job training of all employees assigned to section in appropriate trade techniques. Responsible for receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of supplies, tools, and equipment assigned to the team. Supervision of assigned section of wage grade employees. Reviews work in progress and completed work and, as required, indicate areas, which need to be redone; advises employees on difficult assignments and problems.
