Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Border Patrol Headquarters, Program Management Operations Directorate, located in Washington, District of Columbia.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing complex projects that may cut across organizational lines. Defining goals and objectives needed to maximize performance of a long-term program. Overseeing the planning, direction, and timely execution of a program. Identifying and resolving uncertainties, unique situations, obscure problems, or conflicting objectives encountered during program execution. In this Program Manager role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in the planning and execution of assigned acquisition program or providing staff support to senior acquisition officials on various aspects of acquisition program management. This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Typical duties of this assignment include: Responsible for managing the constraints of cost, schedule, and performance; long range planning for acquisition programs; acquisition program budget and financial management; program execution; and monitoring contractor performance. Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating acquisition, pre-deployment, and deployment activities of a program. Conducting and organizing various Subject Matter Experts (SME), stakeholders and Border Patrol personnel to identify and present programmatic plans for consensus to complete programmatic requirements. Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis, developing measures that evaluating performance, making recommendations for program and project improvement. Managing all resources as corporate assets, and organizational changes and major changes to the structure and content of the program and project performed. The ideal candidate for this position is a professional with experience in the acquisition and program management of technology who demonstrates leadership in team environments.
