This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (MIL), Position Description Number NGD1622000 and is part of 114 FSS. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Title 32 Dual Status Technicians (DST): permanent employees (tenure group 1, 2 or 3) of the South Dakota Air National Guard Title 5 National Guard Employees (NGE): permanent employees (tenure group 1, 2 or 3) with military membership in the South Dakota Air National Guard
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Enlisted to TSgt. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of the mission and the unit is essential in order to provide required support consistent with mission objectives and to coordinate with managers, supervisors, members, customers, dependents, and other offices on human resources issues. Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software employed in the assigned program area to utilize the systems in developing reports, correspondence and to extract data. Knowledge and skill in application of analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems peculiar to the assigned program area. Skill to plan, organize work, administer, communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), meet deadlines, gather, analyze data/products, and summarize facts in order to determine adequacy and/or deficiencies of assigned programs.
As a HR SPEC, GS-0201-9, you will: This position is located within a Military Personnel Flight (MPF) of an Air National Guard (ANG) flying wing. This comprehensive description covers five programs/specialties within the Air National Guard Military Personnel Flight. The primary purpose is to administer and accomplish functions of one or more of the following human resources programs: Career Enhancements, Customer Service, Employments, Relocations, and/or Readiness.
