Demonstrated ability and knowledge directly related to the duties to be performed as identified above. Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision, and the ability to interpret instructions and specifications. Operates a gasoline or diesel powered vehicles with gross weight of not more than 26,000 pounds.
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and carts, either gasoline or electrically powered, on a daily basis while receiving incoming shipments or items.
Assembles items, grouping material according to receiving vouchers and, as necessary, into sub-groups based on property class, condition, and type of transaction.
As indicated, route items not requiring inspection to proper storage area or designation, and items to be reshipped, repacked, or crated. Signs shipping and receiving reports.
Assembles items for shipping according to information on receiving vouchers. Checks condition of shipping containers prior to loading and ensure shipments are loaded into proper conveyances.
Conducts warehouse inventories, and maintains tally listings during the count. Duties are performed independently and seeks guidance and assistance on unusual and complicated situations. Performs other duties as assigned.
