This position serves as support staff, responsible for the prioritizing of tasks as assigned under the supervision of licensed professional nursing staffing, utilizing universal precautions to ensure a safe, clean and orderly environment conducive to the delivery of nursing care. Incumbent is under the general supervision of the Supervisory Nurse.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level; OR, (4) years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation. Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Qualifying specialized experience includes nonprofessional nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility, or in such work as that of a home health aid performing duties Examples Include: Knowledge of basic and advance age-specific nursing assistant skills and responsibilities to sufficiently perform assigned treatments, patient care, use and monitoring of specialized equipment, record patient information, obtain and label specimens, and assist with patient examinations. Providing basic nursing care to patients with a variety of conditions, illnesses, and/or injuries; obtaining and recording patient information (i.e. vital signs, height, weight, I&O, etc.) Performs glucometer testing; ability to react in emergency situations, to initiate CPR; knowledge of medical terminology. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
