Qualifications Must possess a valid Class A driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina. Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate. Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles.
Drives a platform truck (tow truck) weighing up to 26,000 pounds to transport other vehicles, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions.
Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles.
Assist in preparing for and executing the Abandoned Vehicle and NAF Equipment Auctions.
Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
Moderate physical effort is required in making couplings and maneuvering the longer and heavier vehicles to be towed.
