Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Center for International Safety and Security (CISS). The primary purpose of this position is to participate with intelligence and law enforcement personnel in planning and conducting investigations and technical security assignments with particular emphasis on counterterrorism. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
There are no Individual Occupational Requirements for this position. Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: Gathering evidence of criminal or intelligence activity through the application of technical surveillance techniques; participating with intelligence and law enforcement personnel in planning and conducting investigations and technical security assignments with particular emphasis on counterterrorism; providing technical guidance and expertise concerning highly complex technical security functions; protecting against clandestine surveillance devices; detection of unauthorized entry into protected areas; and knowledge and expertise usage of technical equipment in criminal investigations. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF). If your resume doesn't demonstrate possession of the SPF, you will be rated ineligible. The SPF for this position is: Interagency Training Center, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Certification. All requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). As a Physical Security Specialist (TSCM), GS-0080-13, your typical work assignments may include: Providing technical security and countermeasures operations.
