About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Health Clinic, Directorate of Behavioral Health, Oak Harbor, Wahington. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of social work principles and practices to deliver services to individuals and/or groups facing personal, psychological, and interpersonal challenges. Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application package.) Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (Note: You must provide a copy of the license with your application package.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations for behavioral health patients, offering individual or group clinical counseling, and creating behavioral health treatment recommendations or plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Serve as a Social Worker providing individual and group clinical counseling services to help individuals identify and manage personal, psychological, and interpersonal challenges related to occupational and personal adjustment.
Formulate personalized treatment plans for each case, grounded in psychiatric diagnoses, identified issues, and specific treatment needs.
Gather comprehensive bio-psycho-social data on patients through interviews, case histories, observation techniques, and various assessment methods.
Evaluate the gathered data to diagnose, create treatment plans, and assess the need for counseling or referrals to other specialists or institutions.
Assess the effectiveness of treatments and make necessary adjustments to patients' treatment plans as needed.
Deliver prompt and concise feedback to Primary Care Managers (PCMs) regarding consultation findings and recommendations.
Provide clear and concise documentation of care and recommendations in both written and oral communications, with a focus on case formulation and presentation.
