This National Guard position is for a Supervisory Security Specialist, Position Description Number NGD2642000 and is part of the 114th FW. This is a permanent, Title 32, excepted service position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or eligible to become a member.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Service members in the grade of MSgt to SMSgt are eligible to apply. AFSC requirement: 1C391. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. SUPERVISORY SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Experience in the competencies/KSAs listed below. (Experience must be documented in your resume) OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree related to the position.( Transcript must be attached if using education) OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill to manage the Special Access Industrial Security Program for the Installation. Skill in researching, interpreting, analyzing, and applying security guidelines from various sources for local application. Knowledge of supervisory personnel management responsibilities.. Skill in ensuring requests for program access are properly screened and verified, and that all necessary forms and documentation have been completed before processing for access. Knowledge of DoD, USAF, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and MAJCOM policies and directives for the construction, protection, and operation of all advanced programs facilities.
As a Supervisory Security Specialist, GS-0080-12, you will: This position is located in Advanced Programs Office (APO), Special Access Program (SAP) Branch of an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing supporting fighter or bomber aircraft. The purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to a National level Special Access Program (SAP). This position may oversee contractors but only in rare instances oversee the COR. To develop goals and objectives that integrate special access program security requirements that support military, civilian, and contractors to include all assigned and/or attached units and that meet Air Force and Air National Guard (ANG) objectives.
