We are looking for a Corporate Banking Analyst to join the Media Communications Global Relationship Management Team within the TMT vertical at MUFG’s Global Corporate & Investment Bank (GCIB) in New York, NY. As an Analyst, you will support the Media Communications team in managing customer relationships and prospects. Your role will involve assisting Global Relationship Managers (GRMs) with business origination and deal execution. GCIB manages the Bank's key domestic and international client relationships and main financing products. We have a deep understanding of clients from a credit and strategic perspective, enabling us to offer the right products. At the center of the client relationship, the Relationship Management teams coordinate the commercial strategy and collaborate with internal product partners (e.g., capital markets, rates & currencies, and transaction banking). In this role, you will support the development of new business alongside relationship managers, prepare capital committee presentations, conduct industry research, and structure and close loans in the Media Communications sector. Your primary focus will be on revenue generation rather than administrative tasks. You will follow established guidelines, identify and resolve problems, contribute to workflow or process changes, and develop a strong understanding of specific products or processes. You may also be responsible for regular reporting or process administration. Responsibilities: Support senior bankers with client marketing presentations, customer and industry research, document transactions, coordinate with product areas, and assist with pitching to existing and prospective clients Assist Global Relationship Managers with due diligence related to prospective client deals. Manage and monitor the execution of operational aspects of business origination as directed by GRM, such as analyzing portfolio profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination and execution process, preparing economic capital analysis and managing customer intensive processes Prepare and update sector materials, including white papers on sector-specific developments and evolution Develop knowledge (through internal and external training) of the bank, industry, credit and marketing activities Liaise with various product areas on GCIB transactions to help develop more extensive knowledge of MUFG's product capabilities. Integrate developing product knowledge into draft presentations and transaction memos. Promote sales and marketing activity to the target market. Follow relationship development activities with clients and act as liaison with product areas to facilitate opportunities. Manage loan closing process teams that include KYC, funding, and liquidity. Manage the team’s critical customer account planning projects in conjunction with our important product partners Support the Bank's culture through ongoing customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge. Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent field 1 to 2 years of experience in U.S. banking and international markets with an emphasis on corporate credit analysis, capital markets and/or Media Communications and Tech coverage – formal credit training is a decisive asset Excellent interpersonal skills including business writing, editing, and proofreading Solid experience in leveraging MS Office products, primarily MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Financial modeling skills and experience in financial statement analysis Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products Compensation & Benefits: The typical base pay range for this role is between $100K - $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location with eligibility for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
