About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Hospital, Directorate of Administration, Utilization Management, Duty location Bremerton Washington. The nature of this work requires extensive 'analysis in the assessment of specialty care services needed and provided. The incumbent plays a vital role, participating in joint planning for the delivery of specialty care and services. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support to management and conducting studies in one or more of the following areas: Processing Internal and External Referrals, Quality Improvement, or Referral Tracking as it relates to organizational efficiency and support to the specialty care referral process within this facility, other military treatment facilities (MTFs), and the civilian healthcare network. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, or related fields such as Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
The incumbent responsible for all aspects of the specialty care referral process within this facility, other Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), and the civilian healthcare network.
Manage the referral process from initial request to final follow-up, ensuring seamless transitions for patients.
Facilitate communication and coordination between this facility, other MTFs, and the civilian healthcare network to ensure continuity of care.
Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate specialty care.
Continuously assessing and improving referral processes to enhance the quality of patient care.
Utilize referral management systems to track the status of all referrals and maintain accurate records.
Work closely with primary and specialty clinic staff to support cohesive team operations.
Review and update the patient’s electronic medical record to ensure all necessary documentation is entered accurately and timely.
Develop report and make recommendations based on the analysis of findings.
