To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level. Experience: GS-12 and GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progress for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of qualifying experience are: GS-12: Experience in evaluating production performance, price structure of products and proposed future prices. Experience working with commercial double entry bookkeeping system that consists of assets, liabilities, income, and ownership accounts. Experience working with a complex accounting program which includes, but not limited to Fund Accounting, Cost Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Accrual Accounting and Payroll Accounting. Experience reviewing and verifying records utilizing the millennium system. Experience with physical inventories of raw materials, supplies, work in progress, finished goods, and machinery/equipment. GS-13: Experience in providing management oversight, budgetary development, financial and cost accounting analyses. Experience reporting, inventory, warehouse and property management, and perpetual compliance internal control reviews for product lines in a respective group. Experience in maintaining a complex accounting program which includes, but not limited to Fund Accounting, Cost Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Accrual Accounting and Payroll Accounting. Experience providing oversight of the analysis of operation results for evaluating production performance, price structure of products and proposed future prices. Experience in scheduling and maintaining physical inventories such as raw materials and supplies, work in progress, finished goods, and machinery and equipment. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. Manages a prime financial management hub for specialty product lines with extremely complex costing, inventory and industrial requirements for one of the UNICOR business groups. Provides management oversight, budgetary development, financial and cost accounting analyses and reporting, inventory, warehouse and property management, and perpetual compliance internal control reviews for product lines within their respective group. Serves as a technical advisor in all matters related to financial and cost accounting. Provides leadership and direction to subordinate staff in the various locations within the Business Group. Subordinate staff includes; Cost and Financial Accountants, warehouse workers, and at times procurement staff at the prime business group office, and accounting staff located at remote facilities aligned with the prime business group office. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
