Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations. Innovation and Strategy Directorate, located in Washington D.C. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
Experience: You qualify for the Gs-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a major segment of an agency-wide mission or administrative program. Planning, conducting or participating in special studies on task forces, providing authoritative assistance to Headquarters and Field offices. Providing technical assistance and direct support to headquarters management staff in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet mission requirements. Planning, developing and coordinating planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for executive management. Directing the review of all submissions for substance, conformance with instructions, completeness and authorizations. In this position you will serve as an authoritative analyst and/or advisor to management on a wide range of complex program activities requiring application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment of complex management processes, systems, and mission support programs. This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10) Typical duties include: Overseeing the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of a program or several program segments, each of which is managed through separate subordinate organizational units. Providing technical advice on strategic issues; collaborating with other Program Offices across CBP and other components within DHS to improve end-to-end processes throughout the Program Office/component, or equivalent organization; working to resolve problems or issues, impacting programs that extend across the Program Segment/Program Office/CBP/DHS, or equivalent organization. Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis; developing measures that evaluate performance; providing recommendations for program improvement; and managing all resources as corporate assets. Managing organizational changes or major change to the structure and content of the program or program segments directed.
