Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT AND ELECTRONICS SYSTEMS TEST BRANCH of SUPSHIP. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NJ-03 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing management oversight of all combat and electronic functions to ensure the coordination and administration of branch operations for all naval combat systems. You will serve as the Branch Head of the Combat and Electronic Systems Test Branch, Test Division of the Engineering Department of the Office of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, USN, Newport News, Virginia.
You will supervise the activities of the Combat and Electronics Systems Test Branch through the Branch, the performance of Contractor Engineering and design personnel are technically controlled, through the review and approval of engineering work.
You will control the activities of the Branch by planning, by the assignments and by establishment of priorities and objectives to achieve the stated management objectives.
You will make decisions on work problems presented by branch personnel in which incumbent accepts, amends, or rejects work.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
You will represent the Office of Supervisor in technical conferences, developing general plans, policy, and procedures for resolving significant problems having broad impact on the performance of the function of SUPSHIPNN.
