MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E8 Compatible Military Assignments: ENL 91 series: 25B, 36B, 51C, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92G, 92Y GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of and understanding of administrative, professional, analytical, or other work relating to traffic or transportation programs or operations. Must be skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training, involving the movement of freight or passengers and determining transportation and operating costs. Experience participating in the direction and coordination of traffic management functions. Experience interpreting and providing routine advice on carrier tariffs and related routing guides. Interpreting regulations/requirements and developing local policies to implement changes effectively. Experience applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Experience preparing reports and recommendations involving appeals, special permits, adjustments in rates and charges. Experience which involved negotiations with carriers on individual shipments or traffic movement. Experience in making effective presentations both orally and in writing. Serves as the technical transportation advisor to all statewide operating officials on all matters dealing with commercial movement of personnel and equipment.
Ensures that traffic management and transportation services required to support the mission are accomplished.
Inspects, or provides for inspection of, commercial carrier terminals to locate and expedite delivery of astray government shipments.
Procures domestic and international travel for both military and civilian passengers.
Maintains all transportation related automated systems and databases to support the Traffic Management Programs for the State.
Executes duties and responsibilities to support mobilization, demobilizations, Homeland Security/Defense and State and Federal emergency operations.
Accomplishes the full spectrum of support for state and Federal National Guard operations, training, readiness missions, natural disasters, and Homeland Defense/Defense Support of Civil Authorities (HLD/DSCA).
Performs other related duties as assigned.
