Job Description:
You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Department Code 108 of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
For GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with independently applying the Naval Maritime Confined Space Program, including identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies. Experience with overseeing or coordinating hot work procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards. Experience with managing and evaluating Safety and Environmental programs to ensure workplace compliance and effectiveness. Experience with leading or managing Safety or Environmental programs, including developing plans, policies, or training initiatives. Experience with certifying tanks shipboard, ensuring all required standards are met prior to entry or work. Experience with conducting and authorizing hot work certifications in accordance with established safety protocols. For GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with applying the Naval Maritime Confined Space Program under supervision or established guidance. Experience with recognizing and reporting potential hazards in confined spaces to appropriate personnel. Experience with supporting hot work procedures, including assisting with safety checks and compliance monitoring. Experience with participating in Safety and Environmental programs, including identifying hazards, reporting concerns, and recommending basic corrective actions. You will serve as the Gas Free Engineer (GFE) responsible for organizing, administering, coordinating, evaluating and implementing a comprehensive Confined Space Program (CSP) for Naval Maritime Confined Space Program.
You will ensure compliance with confined space program and gas free requirements in the development and implementation of work instructions, procedures, and processes.
You will provide training, technical advice and perform second-level review of confined space entry/GFE work products.
You will be responsible for planning, administration, evaluation, and management of the GFE/CSP designed to prevent injuries, accidents or loss of life or damage to government property.
You will conduct reviews and audits regarding implementation of the GFE/CSP in all shops/codes and ensures corrective action is taken where deficiencies are noted.
You will enforce federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), NAVSEA, and local TRIDENT Refit Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia (TRF-KB) OSH regulations.
