Job Description:

You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the NAVAL BASE CORONADO NB CORONADO. Salary Details: GS-07: $57,070-$74,196 GS-08: $63,203-$82,170 The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing secretarial support using office automation products and systems to schedule appointments, prepare correspondence and reports, coordinate events, or identify and adjust priorities for the efficient execution of secretarial function. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing office support functions using office automation software to maintain and adjust a calendar, draft and edit correspondence, or maintain records for the support of reliable administrative services. You will establish and maintain office records to assist in the efficient operation of the office.
You will compose correspondence into final form to review for correct spelling, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
You will receive telephone calls and visitors screening those which can be handled without the supervisor's help.
You will develop automated reports using a variety of office automation software (e.g., database, spreadsheet, word processing).
You will prepare meeting agendas or minutes to disseminate information to division personnel.
