Job Description:

You will serve as a Physical Scientist in the Littoral Survey Branch, Survey Support Division, Hydrographic Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
(For GS-13) In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Applicant resume must demonstrate the following specialized experience: Experience managing and planning hydrographic surveys. Experience using hydrographic hardware and software. Experience serving as Hydrographer-in-Charge for Hydrographic surveys. You will serve as a specialist in the planning, execution and processing of hydrographic surveys.
You will collaborate with other technical experts to refine department wide processes.
You will compile, analyze, evaluate and refine hydrographic, oceanographic, geodetic, navigational and bathymetric survey data collected by the branch.
You will evaluate new techniques and their potential improvement in satisfying established requirements.
You will conduct extensive logistic preparation for field operations and exercises including calibration and staging of equipment and liaison with participation organizations.
