The incumbent serves as a Materials Handler for the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) performing work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and/or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment.

SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Physical Requirements: Often stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or assistance from other workers Working Conditions: Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Materials Handlers are regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, they may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as hardhats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons.
Major Duties Unloads incoming shipments, verifies receipt, and matches shipping documents and receipts. Processes receiving reports promptly after receipt of merchandise (including partial shipments) to ensure payment to vendor in a timely manner. Maintains proper storage of items after processing, pending delivery to appropriate section. Sort product by product lot number, expiration date, and zone. Screens shipping and receiving documents to identify discrepancies.
