About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Hospital Bremerton, Washington, Directorate of Resource Management/Budget. The incumbent will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with regulations, monitor financial reports, and guide a team of analysts in managing budgets and financial strategies. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting principles within a federal agency or a comparable environment which includes analyzing financial data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing corrective measures to enhance operational efficiency and adept at utilizing automated financial systems such as : the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Financial Management Information System (FMIS), Defense Travel System (DTS), and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) to streamline financial processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Support Financial Management Analysis Leadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Oversee the Resource Management Directorate as Department Head, managing a team of accountants, accounting technicians, Payroll Customer Service Representatives, and Travel Customer Service Representatives.
Manage an internal commitment accounting system and overseeing outputs from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) accounting system, along with the General Funds Enterprise Business System.
Offer expert advice and guidance on a broad range of financial policies and requirements, conducting professional analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports.
Lead meetings and interviews with directors, program managers, employees, and supervisors to assess challenges and formulate potential solutions related to various financial systems.
Manage a team of financial analysts, providing guidance on complex financial matters, and fostering professional development.
Organize tasks for subordinates, establish and modify priorities, and devise schedules to ensure timely completion of work.
