About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Lakehurst Fitness Center, Lakehurst, NJ.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Must be able to read, speak. and write English and communicate effectively with patrons. Must possess skills in dealing with the public. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of day-to-day operation of the JB-MDL Fitness Center. Serves as desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment and adhere Fitness Center policy. Greets visitors, answers telephones, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Provides assistance and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues sports equipment and completes required documentation for transactions. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Inspects all equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor. Performs opening and closing procedures of facilities in accordance with written guidelines. Maintains and prepares Fitness Center facilities, grounds, and equipment for daily use, programs, and special functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
