About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the DYESS OUTDOOR POOL . This position is considered Flex NTE 8 SEP 2025. This position is considered Flexible (Part-Time) guaranteed 00-40 hours. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have an approved and current national recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. Satisfactory completion of installation record checks, state and national criminal background checks are required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Background Investigation You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administrators first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warms swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions or hazards and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specific standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc. If interested in applying for this position you may preview the online application: https://apply.usastaffing.gov/ViewQuestionnaire/12728593
