Job Description:

You will serve as the Principal Technical Manager for Energetics Manufacturing Technology for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD).
The applicant is to provide a separate narrative statement which describes fully, but concisely, how his/her experience supports each of the following Mandatory Technical Qualifications. Each technical qualification narrative should not exceed 2 pages. Failure to address these specific qualifications in a separate narrative statement will eliminate you from consideration: 1. Expert knowledge in the fields of process research and development and production of energetics specific to explosive and propellant synthetic routes, production processes, and qualification standards. 2. Expert knowledge in the fields of process research and development and production of energetics specific to chemical and materials analytical methods, nondestructive test and evaluation, and performance verification. 3. Expert knowledge in the fields of process research and development and production of energetics specific to quality assured scale-up of traditional production processes and realization of novel processing methods and technology to full-scale energetics production. 4. Expert knowledge in the fields of process research and development and production of energetics specific to safe explosive hazardous waste handling and incorporation of emerging technologies to reduce environmental impacts. 5. Expert knowledge of energetics production processes in use and in development by the DoN/DoD/international allies. 6. Working knowledge of National Defense Strategy-identified adversary energetic materials, production processes, delivery methods and effects. 7. Ability to instruct, lecture, mentor and lead technical forums to assess corrective actions and develop innovative solutions to energetics production problems. You will serve as Department Head of the Energetics Manufacturing Technology Department, providing leadership and technical direction, as well as administrative supervision to employees in the department.
You will provide expert technical and program advice for all areas of energetics manufacturing, scale-up, production, explosive waste disposal, Research and Development, for energetic production processes, and production testing and evaluation.
You will provide leadership for the development of Navy strategies for energetics production and serve as a subject matter expert for Navy and DoD studies on energetics process development, scale-up, and production.
You will ensure Command energetic production efforts are aligned to Naval and DoD strategic direction and coordinate with Command senior staff and departments to achieve desired results.
You will serve as senior advisor to Navy leadership on energetics production, testing and evaluation and explosive hazard waste issues and concerns.
You will serve as the Principal Technical Manager for Energetics Manufacturing Technology for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD).
