Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, CBP Watch, Watch Operations, located in Washington, DC.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Supervising, managing, or directing operation or operational programs and their appropriate support functions. Performing a continual analysis of network operations to identify, isolate and resolve operational problems. Developing project action plans, writing correspondence and reports, and orally conveying technical findings in a highly effective manner. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position starts at a salary of $120,579.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $156,755.00 (GS-13, Step 10). While serving as a Supervisory Sector Enforcement Specialist, your duties will include: Providing formal oversight for such initiatives as the development of inter/intra-agency support, guidelines, directives, and standard operating procedures. Identifying critical milestones for assigned projects; preparing criteria for evaluating product deliverables; and obtaining clearances and approvals from users prior to implementing new policies and procedures affecting their operations. Utilizing state-of-the-art communication technologies to resolve complex integration and interoperability problems. Developing project action plans, write correspondence and reports, and orally convey technical findings in a highly effective manner. This vacancy has a local commuting area requirement, as defined below: The area surrounding the duty station by which people reasonably travel back and forth from home to work; Or The employee's permanent duty station is located within the reasonable travel area surrounding the duty station of this vacancy; Or if applicable For employees who are detailed or temporarily promoted (for less than 1 year) to another duty location, the permanent duty location is considered to be the duty location of record for commuting area purposes.
