About the Position: This position is located within Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, GA. This is an open continuous announcement. 1st applicant cutoff date: 9 May 2025 2nd applicant cutoff date: 23 May 2025 3rd applicant cutoff date: 6 June 2025 Final applicant cutoff date: 24 June 2025 This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes: (1) coding medical diagnosis and procedures utilizing current coding guidelines; (2) conducting audits of medical records for accuracy of coding; (3) conducting training on coding procedures to medical staff; AND (4) performing clerical and administrative support functions within in a clinic or medical treatment facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Manage patient health information and medical records
Review accuracy of coding to ensure it allows input of data into the computer system.
Perform audits of records that were previously coded.
Advise other personnel on accurate and current coding practices.
Code diseases in a wide range of ambulatory settings.
