You will serve as a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the DEFENSIVE ORDNANCE DIVISION (TRF-750), DEFENSIVE ORDNANCE SUPPORT BRANCH (TRF-751), WEAPONS REPAIR DEPARTMENT (TRF-700) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Lead or Supervise such as: Ability to assemble and repair ammunition, ordnance, and equipment; ability to review, record, and make observations of operations to ensure compliance with manuals; and ability to perform tests on submarine defensive ordnance systems/equipment. Ability to conduct operation checks on various electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies, and ability to troubleshoot systems/equipment. Ability to direct, coordinate, and/or lead jobs to meet production goals. You will perform testing, maintenance, repair, alteration, explosive operations, and inspections on submarine defensive ordnance systems and related components.
You will detect and diagnose system malfunctions, disassembly of equipment, repairing or replacing parts or components, and align or test the modified or repaired/replaced equipment on OHIO class Submarines.
You will set the pace to ensure assigned schedules and completion times and dates are met.
You will interpret a variety of technical data and work sequence process to take measurements, to diagnose malfunctions, to assure that the equipment operates within prescribed standard tolerances.
