To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element: to be considered for this position, Incumbent must possess the following:JOB ELEMENT 1: Ability To Do The Work Of Head Offset Pressperson(4 Color + Coater) Without More Than Normal Supervision. These duties for the Head Offset Pressperson(4 Color + Coater) include: experience of how to set up, operate, adjust an all sheet fed and envelope/specialty two color, four, six and eight color presses. Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
Inspects press to ensure it is oiled/greased, in good working order, and that all safety guards are in placeand all safety procedures are followed.
Examines plates for obvious defects, (e.g. scratches, dents, missing image, etc.).
Obtains and/or directs crew to obtain press supplies and other materials that are needed to complete job.
Ensure feeder is set-up correctly to maintain registration throughout the entirety of the press run.
Reads press statement and job jacket to determine status and specifications of the job to be printed.
