Job Description:
You will serve as a Engineer in the Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare Systems Division (WXM), Spectrum Warfare Systems Department (WX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14/15. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $161,889).
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer leading the development, implementation and sustainment of strategies or policies to assess and resolve operational functions for an organization. You will serve as the Deputy Division Manager.
You will ensure close communication and collaboration with the Division Manager.
You will oversee day-to-day operation of projects within the Division.
You will provide leadership on the development, implementation, and sustainment of the Division’s strategies and policy (human capital, facilities, technical capabilities, etc.) into division initiatives, planning and processes.
You will provide oversight and guidance on the approach for reviewing division’s key functions via execution reviews and metrics for cost, quality and schedule monitoring.
You will ensure resource planning (human capital, facilities and equipment) are adequate to meet current/future resourcing demands and aligned to Division and Department objectives.
You will provide leadership to supervisors and staff personnel, approves leave and travel orders when applicable, recommends awards, resolves informal employee complaints, addresses personnel issues.
You will serve in an essential role in furthering Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Program goals and objectives.
You will work with branch managers and key staff to address operational issues within the division and to put corrective actions and processes into place for resolution.
You will coordinate cross divisional efforts within the department as required.
You will act on behalf of the Division Manager, daily as required, and in the absence of the Division Manager.
You will make programmatic, strategic and technical decisions as delegated by the Division Manager.
