Job Description:

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Senate Office Buildings, Senate Health and Fitness Facility. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Senate Health and Fitness Facilities to meet the needs of Members of the Senate and members of the facilities.
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having the following: You MUST meet (4) of the (4) specialized experience requirements to qualify: 1.) Experience directly supervising health and fitness professionals in a specialized health facility environment. 2.) Experience maintaining the operating budget and managing financial accounts supported by membership dues and annual appropriations. 3.) Experience designing and developing exercise and wellness programs for people of diverse needs and high-level executives. 4.) Experience establishing new and maintaining individual membership accounts utilizing electronic and hard copy records, tracking memberships monthly billing client accounts and canceling memberships. Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having the following: You MUST meet (5) of the (5) specialized experience requirements to qualify: 1.) Experience directly supervising health and fitness professionals in a specialized health facility environment. 2.) Experience maintaining the operating budget and managing financial accounts supported by membership dues and annual appropriations. 3.) Experience designing and developing exercise and wellness programs for people of diverse needs and high-level executives. 4.) Experience establishing new and maintaining individual membership accounts utilizing electronic and hard copy records, tracking memberships monthly billing client accounts and canceling memberships. 5.) Experience working with relevant stakeholders to plan and implement facility improvements.
Responsibilities include Supervises a team of Health and Fitness Specialists Implements performance standards and conducts regular evaluations. Assists in maintaining an annual operating budget and manages financial accounts supported by membership dues and annual appropriations. Maintains secure records of member health information and ensures strict confidentiality of facility usage. Conducts orientation for newly elected members regarding the services provided by the facility. Implements personalized plans to promote the physical and mental health of members. Manages contractor relationships and ensures compliance with contract requirements and performance. Performs other duties as assigned.
