Opportunity
The Master Scheduler leads the reception and analysis of the firm demand and forecast, to validate the consistency and identify any potential issue if there is a significant variation vs business capacity.
The key data inputs for the Master scheduler function are:
The Distribution demand required to fulfill the reorder points or inventory objectives, the PSI forecast and demand fluctuations, Capacity of every work center, the Inventory of Finished Goods, the optimal and current Work In Process Inventory availability and lead times of the Raw Materials utilized in the production process.
Specific Responsibilities
Receive the monthly production plan from the SIOP function, compare statistical data, quantify and report any variation > 15%, within 4 weeks financial planning horizon. Lead comparison of firm and forecast demand, with business resources and capacity to identify and report any variation to appropriate representatives such as: Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Finance.Lead weekly Production Planning meetings with Production Supervisors and Supply Planning, to review Inventory by SKU, priorities to mold, grind and enamel, to prevent Finished Goods stockouts in distribution centers, that would represent Sales Past due. Key Performance indicators: LOTIF, Inventory turnsDevelop and monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics for Raw, WIP and FG inventory levels, Production Schedule adherence, inventory accuracy.Perform Cycle counts as required and assists with the physical inventory process to ensure RAW, WIP, and FG accuracy.Maintain electronic records and logs for top 5 responsibilities described above, and all Master Schedules and revisions posted.Lead Communication of Master Production Schedules to all business processes and all functional areas. Key contributor to pull & lean projects to reduce Leadtime and cost.Simplify and Standardize Master Production Scheduling and visual management systems for best-in-class performance. Incorporating the MPS t SAP and KBNA e-business solutions designed to create partnerships with supply base.Participate in and lead cross-functional teams, as required, to drive improvements within Cast Iron Materials Management.Utilize highly analytical, communication and leadership skills to contribute to develop production level loading plans, contingency plans to recover from any potential disruption, internal or external, to ensure consistent supply of direct materials, MPS execution and assure Cast Iron flexibility to sustain on time performance, while demand is constantly fluctuating
