Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Analyst for Sanctions Tuning to support the enhancement and optimization of our sanctions screening systems. This role involves analyzing large datasets, tuning detection models, and applying advanced data science and programming techniques to improve system performance while ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical proficiency, regulatory awareness, and strategic thinking, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate insights effectively. Qualifications: In connection with the Global Financial Crimes program – Some of these top skills for data analysts include 1-3 years’ experience in: Extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support tuning and calibration of sanctions screening systems. Leverage SQL and Microsoft Excel to conduct root-cause analyses, data profiling, and scenario testing. Apply scripting and statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python) to drive automation, modeling, and data analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to define tuning requirements, interpret system outputs, and assess model effectiveness. Ensure alignment with data governance principles, including data mapping, lineage, quality control, and privacy standards. Participate in ETL development and optimization to support robust data pipelines. Develop dashboards and data visualizations to communicate key metrics and findings to non-technical stakeholders. Present complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams and leadership. Identify opportunities to automate Business-As-Usual (BAU) tasks, improving efficiency and scalability. Think systemically to align tuning activities with enterprise-wide risk strategies and operational processes. Contribute to continuous improvement of sanctions compliance programs and risk mitigation frameworks. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, and Data Analysis/Programming related degree. The typical base pay range for this role is between $71k-$89k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
