Job Description:
You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Technical Division (SP20) Missile Branch (SP27) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical oversight and direction for missile system test and evaluation by assessing and implementing innovative techniques, applications, and methods to resolve and improve design plans, requirements, and meeting project objectives. You will plan and manage specific efforts to determine capabilities of material and structures to survive under stimulated environments and progressive aging.
You will be responsible for the design and development of special purpose test vehicles required in the TRIDENT program.
You will plan, initiate, and monitor programs related to research, design and development, assembly and test of the TRIDENT Missile ballistic shell.
You will monitor hardware performance and reliability. Initiates investigations, surveillance, and corrective actions to maintain the performance and reliability of deployed systems.
You will monitor and evaluate of new materials, structural concepts, analysis techniques, and improved design and fabrication techniques for advanced missile system developments.
You will supervise developments in these fields to continually stay abreast of new and improved trends for application to present or future missile developments.
You will assist with preparation of technical portion of Requests for Proposals (RFP).
