THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2224P01 and is part of the ND 119 Civil Engineering Squadron, National Guard.

MAX MILITARY GRADES: MSgt COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 3E9XX QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level or civilian equivalent which includes: 1) Skilled in preparing and briefing emergency management plans; 2) Knowledgeable in personnel activations and deployments; and 3) knowledge of emergency management and related directives, policies, regulations, procedures, and methods. OR Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to the position. OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a degree in a field related to the position You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Refer to "How you will be Evaluated" section of this announcement.
As a Emergency Management Specialist, the primary purpose of this position is to execute the Emergency Management (EM), Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN), and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) emergency response, logistics, and training programs. The position develops, manages, and executes the EM programs, ensuring all military, civilian and contract personnel are trained and equipped to support home station and worldwide contingency operations. Assists in the development and coordination of plans and procedures for implementation Collaborates with on and off-base units and agencies, on EM programs, policies, and procedures. and execution of the Installation Emergency Management Plan (IEMP 10-2). Assists in conducting initial/recurring training for functional areas of EM. Maintains Emergency Management response equipment, training resources, and supply inventories. Serves as a CBRN Response team member.
