About the Position:This position is located at Reynolds Army Health Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is an open continuous announcement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic requirements for a Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes conducting polysomnography tests, analyzing polysomnography test results or conditions that may impact results, and maintaining polysomnography equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Polysomnography or Sleep Technology. NOTE: You Must provide a copy of transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. NOTE: You Must provide a copy of transcripts.
Conduct polysomnogram and CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) trials on patients in the sleep laboratory.
Scan patients' health records for medical conditions and medications pertinent to the performance of each sleep laboratory procedure.
Explain procedures and protocols to patients to insure patient comfort for optimal recording of test.
Fit the patients with an appropriate mask size for the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) trial.
Perform operator maintenance of all sleep laboratory equipment and requests maintenance on equipment as needed.
