Job Description:
You will serve as an Engineer in the Modernization and Installation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer conducting design or modification analysis and proposing solutions to resolve testing problems of computer, mechanical, or electronic systems and equipment for ship weapons systems testing activities. You will serve as the Installation Coordination Team (ICT) Team Leader during In-Service and New Construction availabilities
You will lead plan, coordinate, install, and conduct industrial testing of shipboard Combat Systems.
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and chairing Installation Coordination Team (ICT) meetings for Amphibious Assault and Aircraft Carrier ships throughout their availabilities.
You will provide feedback on availability planning, combat system testing events, hardware and software installations, combat system surveys, combat system alignments, and combat system certifications.
You will monitor and report testing of all systems and equipment installed or repaired during the availability and notify project leadership when Ship's Force work cannot be completed by scheduled or key event completion date.
You will monitor concerns regarding redelivery expectations and capabilities have been addressed and participate in meetings to resolve concerns. You will closely coordinate configuration, installation and testing schedules and issues.
You will be responsible for the technical quality of the In-Service Engineering products and services assigned to the Branch and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of technical principles and support concepts of US Navy Ships.
You will lead efforts within your area of expertise to develop and execute Ships Construction, Maintenance, Modernization and Availability of projects by managing resource planning for each program office.
You will facilitate management goals, developing changes to processes and procedures to improve productivity and value added from fleet products.
