Job Description:
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the ACCOUNTING DIVISION COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
NT-03: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing professional accounting work that requires the application of accounting theories concepts, principles and standards for use in the analysis and processing of accounting/financial data. NT-04: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional accountant interpreting laws and regulations to analyze and audit accounting/financial data to manage and reconcile accounts for an organization. You will be responsible reporting and posting of accounting transactions of Corona's Navy Working Capital Fund in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP).
You will analyze financial reports such as Department of Navy Industrial Information System (DONIBIS) balance sheets, income statements, and statement of cash for accuracy, reconcile financial documents.
You will interpret accounting data and create metric reporting charts of the data to be used by decision makers.
You will explain to the Accounting Officer and Comptroller status of the accounts they are monitoring.
You will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Officer and Comptroller by performing audits of accounts and providing requested backup to auditors in support of NAVSEA's Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) efforts.
You will be responsible for interpreting laws, regulations, procedures and practices of cost accounting, general accounting and Financial Management Regulations, DoD and DoN policies in the Navy Working Capital Fund and Navy Resource Planning (ERP).
You will assist in the auditing of data to ensure Command compliance with the above regulations.
