THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE OFFICER, Position Description Number D1640000 and is part of the 105TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Military Grades: Officer only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience to at least the next lower grade that provided experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc. Experience in determination of resource needs, allocation of resources, and budgeting/funding needs. Experience in human resources management policy matters affecting the entire organization, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience with critical senior managerial position with full responsibility for the maintenance, repair, airworthiness, and combat readiness of wing-assigned military aircraft. Experience with managerial work involving equipment maintenance operations, and specifically aircraft maintenance operations, with the accountability for the success of line and staff aircraft maintenance functions leading to the mission capability and effectiveness of assigned high performance military aircraft. Experience determining resource (resources include, but are not limited to, personnel, facilities, equipment, fiscal and financial, parts and supplies) needs and requirements, the allocation of assets, and accountability for effective resource utilization.
As a Aircraft Maintenance Officer, GS-1601-14, you will serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Group Commander, with responsibility for directing, and managing the Aircraft Maintenance Group. It partners with the Wing Commander, as well as the Mission Support Group, and the Operations Group Commanders in planning, scheduling, and implementing an Operationally Risk Managed (ORM) flying program. The scope of work for the positions is identified with an authorized work force ranging from 325 to 674 Military Technicians, Traditional Guard members, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR), Non Dual Status Technicians, state employees, and contract personnel.
