Job Description:
You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHIP SUPERINTENDENT in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with shipyard work operations and shop practices, pertaining to all phases of ship repair and overhaul. Experience with production control, budget control, determining material availability and personnel management. Experience providing guidance on the ship repairs process and coordinating necessary corrective actions involving production errors. Experience making recommendations to techniques and procedures resulting in increased efficiency; and effectively communicating both orally and in writing in order to inform, advise, train, guide, or persuade a variety of audiences. Experience managing job order costs, work progress reports, manpower allotment and material availability. You will manage and direct efforts on review of work completion to ensure all jobs are completed prior to overhaul key events.
You will coordinate all operations on all three shifts.
You will direct daily production work through subordinate supervisors by delegating non-nuclear overhaul tasks.
You will review cost and work progress reports to anticipate and/or initiate corrective actions prior to exceeding cost limits.
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling assignments several months before work starts.
