About the Position: This position is located at WRNMMC, Director for Behavioral Health, Department of BH Acute and Outpatient SVCS Adult O/P Behavioral Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Parking at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is limited, the use of commuting alternatives is recommended. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing behavioral health assessments; conducting individual and/or group outpatient treatment; and coordinating with other members of a multi-disciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Behavioral Science. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Conduct behavioral health assessments under the supervision of a privileged behavioral health provider.
Assist with intake and orientation processes for new patients within the clinic.
Collect and record psychosocial data.
Provide individual and group outpatient treatment and conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
Assist with direct treatment and management of behavioral health patients and participate in treatment planning.
