Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, New York Field Office, located in Newark, NJ. This position will cover all permanent storage facilities within the Port of New York/Newark, including the Centralized Storage Facility.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Reviewing and updating automated systems for data completeness and accuracy Providing technical direction on complex issues pertaining to seized property activities Planning, preparing for and participating in seized property destruction operations Making recommendations on storage requirements and locations for all types of seized property Giving advice, counsel, or instruction to personnel on operational and administrative matters NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your authoritative and technical expertise, supervising subordinate staff and overseeing the programs and policies related to the inventory and safe storage of seized property that has not met the requirements for entry into the U.S. This position starts at a salary of $124,189.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $161,448.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
