This position is located at DLA Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Standard Qualifications: Work experience directly related to the duties described above. Must have excellent organizational skills; be highly skilled in written and verbal communications. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other software as required. Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred are those candidates who also possess a bachelor's degree. Highly Qualified: Possess a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field OR at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. Possess a current NAF Contracting Officers warrant Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in NAF procurement Experience MUST be reflected on your Resume and/or Transcripts/COR Certifications MUST be uploaded to the documents section at the time of application to be considered for Standard and/or Highly Qualified for this position. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request.
Manages assigned contracts and projects including all pre- and post-award contracting functions and team coordination with all affected activities (i.e., requiring activity, legal, accounting).
Interfaces with Policy Division on procurement policies and procedures as required. Provides guidance to customers, colleagues and subordinates with policy set forth by NAF Contracting.
Recommends improvements in contracting procedures and develops corrective action plan. Uses automated procurement system in the performance of duties. Provides information for various management information reports and input for the Strategic Plan.
Assists other division members as needed and participates in special projects. Responds to customers (internal and external) in a timely, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful manner. If appointed, may serve as a warranted contracting officer.
Maintains effective and supportive relationships with contacts and takes initiative to resolve areas of disagreement. Handles difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Performs other duties as assigned.
