You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST in the Industrial Hygiene Program Office (IHPO) of NMRTU PORTSMOUTH NH.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience performing industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations. -Experience assesses work practices to identify the population at risk and to detect violations of published health standards -Experience evaluating the need for quantitative assessment of air contamination; noise and other physical stressors as well as the quantitative assessment of ventilation systems. OR- one year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement or a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience using industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices, applicable to planning and carrying out all industrial hygiene programs for Navy and Marine Corps activities concerned with a wide variety of industrial sites and research laboratories. -Experience recognizing and evaluating occupational health hazards, including those for which the nature and extent of hazard is not completely understood. -Experience devising a variety of control measures, including ventilation, shielding, material substitution, change in work procedures, isolation, education, personal protective devices. -Experience evaluating proposed new work processes and/or materials and or recommend measures to minimize health hazards. -Experience with DOEHRS and making statistical exposure assessments. OR- successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. You will prepare preliminary and final technical reports of studies, surveys, investigations and after laboratory sample analysis.
You will assist in the preparation of written workplace monitoring plans and track their completion and update plans as necessary.
You will investigate health problems that arise among workers, such as individuals having indoor air quality problems related to their work environment.
You will conduct and document SEG exposure assessments in the DOEHRS-IH database.
You will assist in developing training plans and schedules covering all activities within the program.
You will have professional knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices applicable to the conduct of comprehensive industrial hygiene surveys in a wide variety of industries.
You will prepare notifications as required and documentation for personnel medical records.
