To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience developing Demand Plans for moderately complex/critical Industrial Activity customers or items. Experience analyzing and reviewing supportability planning documents and developing availability strategies to ensure necessary material is available. Experience analyzing customer forecasting, requisitioning, usage and returns to identify trends in assigned items. Experience participating in resolving any open issues with collaborative customers, such as adjusting collaborative demand plans as necessary. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Providing a point of connection between the demand planning process and appropriate Supply Planners, Sustainment Specialists, Weapon System Program Managers (WSPMs), Weapon System Support Managers (WSSMs). and Customer Support Managers (CSMs).
Creating/validating a Demand Plan for groups of highly complex or critical items to be supported worldwide and/or customer demand for items purchased on a regular or irregular basis.
Analyzing and adjusting historical demand data to develop collaborative/statistical forecast for items that have demonstrated demand patterns and for those that support the applications of statistical models of prediction.
Meeting with the Industrial Activities’ applicable personnel to address anticipated requirements for DLA products and to gain knowledge of IA’s planning factors that may influence requirements.
Ensuring forecast or demand plans are published in a timely manner and are provided to the appropriate collaborative partners.
Managing and directing team members in a collaborative environment to produce timely, quality products and results.
