Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Floodplain Management Specialist in the Mitigation Division of Region 9. Typical assignments include: Working with local communities to ensure compliance with all applicable floodplain management regulations, ordinances, executive orders, policies, and guidance. Gathering, reviewing, and organizing permit and compliance-related information from communities in support of audits. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners, local and state officials, building officials, and floodplain managers. Responding to inquiries from State, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments and the public regarding floodplain management, flood insurance, and flood mapping. Managing a compliance caseload and providing technical assistance and training to communities as they adopt and enforce local floodplain management regulations. What else do I need to know?
